Sanriku Coast
A year past the Tsunami of March 2011

A massive earthquake caused a Tsunami that devastated more than 200km of coastline in Northern Japan in 2011. Hundreds of fishing villages and towns where erased by the floods, 25.000 people lost their lives. A year later I toured this stretch of coastline by motorcycle and captured what was left to be seen, what nature had done to the sites and how people cope with the aftermath that will in one form or another last the length of their lifes.
